Godfather

This one is strictly after dinner for me or there would be no dinner.

Introduced to me by a dear friend, this is the Godfather and it couldn’t be easier.

In a rocks glass with ice, pour equal measures (I’m not judging you on quantity) of whisky and amaretto (Monkey Shoulder blended malt Scotch whisky and Disaronno would be my preference), and that, my friends is it.

Sip (or glug, no judgement for that either, but please drink responsibly) while watching TV after dinner.

Regarding the history of this, like many cocktails, the provenance is uncertain but legend has it that it was invented in the 1970s for Marlon Brando who liked amaretto and played the title character in the film, The Godfather.

You can create a Godmother cocktail using equal quantities of vodka and amaretto, or a Godchild using cream and amaretto.
